ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s is looking for a talented Geographic Information Systems (GIS) intern to join our team. The qualified candidate will contribute across multiple project teams and provide a range of GIS services relating to transportation, safety analysis and environmental projects.

Responsibilities

• Development, synthesis, management, and analysis of data

• GIS mapping production

• Editing geographic data

• Producing shapefiles, story maps, and dashboards

Skills and Attributes

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently with guidance

• Background experience working with Esri’s ArcGIS Pro, Online, and Google Earth.

• Ability to perform basic GIS analysis and query operations

• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite especially Excel

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a master’s degree in geography, cartography, planning, engineering, computer or environmental science, transportation, or a related field

• 2 years of completed coursework related to GIS is preferred

• Experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro and Online
