This map shows the estimated electric power that could be generated by rooftop solar panels in the town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The amount of solar radiation each building receives was modelled in ArcGIS Pro using data from 2023. Suitable rooftop surfaces were determined using the following criteria: a slope of 45 degrees or less; surface receives at least 800 kWh/ m2 of solar radiation; surface does not face north; at least 30 square meters of suitable roof surface. Electric power estimates were calculated assuming 16% percent efficiency and 86% performance ratio for the solar panel system.
