For my greenspace analysis, I used network analysis and spatial data to evaluate public access to greenspaces in Los Angeles. Starting with a detailed dataset of greenspace areas and LA Metro's public transport maps, I applied ArcGIS and SQL to calculate accessibility based on travel time by public transit, focusing on distance from the nearest stop on the bus line to communicate how accessible greenspaces are via public transportation. By conducting spatial joins, I linked demographic data with greenspace locations to highlight disparities in access across different neighborhoods in Los Angeles county. The final analysis included a map and statistical breakdown that revealed underserved areas and informed recommendations for improving greenspace equity in urban planning.
