The series of maps showing the mean LST by census tract boundary in Chicago from 2000 to 2022 offer valuable insights into the spatial distribution of UHIs over time. The color scale, ranging from green (cooler temperatures) to red (hotter temperatures), vividly showcases the variations in LST across the city over time. First LST was extracted from Landsat 30m resolution images by using ArcGIS Modelbuilder tool in ArcGIS pro environment. Also a seperate MODSI 1km resolution LST was extracted by automation process using Model builder tool. Lastly, the quantile mapping method was utilized to modify Landsat LST values through referencing MODIS data to adjust and provide a more realistic LST values for each of the census tract.
