This figure comes from my graduate research into the impacts of different land use practices on forest structure through time. I identified three forest plots with different management histories to serve as representations of different logging and clearing practices in the historical landscape. I collected GPS points at the center of each site and then extracted available LiDAR data in a 30m radius around each location to compare vertical forest structure between the sites. This figure shows the GPS points and 30m radius areas over aerial imagery from the National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) collected in 2023 and field photos from the three sites.
