This heat map was created using the 2023 Alberta census data to visually represent the population distribution across the province. It highlights the areas with the highest population density, providing insights into where most of the residents live. The map clearly shows that the majority of the population is concentrated in the southern half of Alberta, particularly in and around the largest cities such as Calgary and Edmonton. This geographic trend reflects the economic, cultural, and infrastructural hubs of the province, as well as the areas with the most job opportunities, amenities, and services. As a result, these southern regions have become key centers for both population growth and migration within Alberta.
