This mapping exercise was the first piece of work done on ArcGIS. It can be a slow process if anyone using ArcGIS is not familiar with the tools and other mechanics of the application. Importing the data needed for future projects on this software can be troublesome for any new users but once that hurdle is passed, users can get through the next following assignments that include the main tool used which is called Symbolism; this tool allows anyone to adjust the colors of the school zones and the following areas around (this tool also allows users to alter the shape and transparency of the layers and points.)
