A project I completed at college for my gis class. I collected data from the U.S. Census Tiger/Line shapefiles, U.S. Census Population, U.S.G.S. NHD, U.S.G.S. DEM, U.S.G.S. NLCD, N.C.D.O.I., N.C.O.S.F.M., and NC OneMap. Then process the data using geoprocessing tools and ModelBuilder to create a ranking to measure the recreational park suitability of each Surry's county block group. The results favored the outskirts of the urban area of Mount Airy and Elkin as it has services nearby, available land, and a large population within a certain distance.
