FLOOD HAZARD MAPPING PART OF (LOKOJA)

This project focused on mapping flood hazard zones in Lokoja (part of), Kogi State, utilizing remote sensing techniques. The objectives of the study included the acquisition of a suitable satellite image covering the Lokoja area, digital processing of the image, georeferencing and digitization, flood hazard modelling, map integration and production, as well as field verification and completion. The methodology employed involved obtaining remotely sensed images of the study area, pre-processing, image classification, modelling slope, watershed, drainage network, flow accumulation, soil classification, classification and standardization, pairwise comparison matrix, normalized weighted matrix, consistency index check, and flood hazard index modelling.
