This is a map of reported Eurasian water milfoil in Lake Minocqua, Oneida County. This map uses the most recent DNR acquired data. I wanted to create a map that was meant to be posted at boat landings to help inform people of where EWM is and how to identify it. I also wanted the map to inform that efforts are being made to control the spread of EWM, so I included information regarding that. This project was beneficial in the fact that I was using data that I was not used to using. The data is collected through a point intercept survey recorded through a Microsoft Excel sheet, making it difficult to create a heat map like I had originally intended. Instead, I used graduated symbols and colors to indicate density. One criticism that this map has received is that bathymetry would have given views a better understanding of which depths EWM is most prevalent in, making it easier for people to avoid such areas.
