I made this map while helping out with a middle school class learning about mapping. They were studying the locations of lost treasure in Oregon so I took the list that they were working from, the 1977 book Lost Mines and Buried Treasures of the West, and made this map. It is interactive so they are able to click on each of the features to learn more about the treasure. The project they are working towards is coming up with a plan to search for the treasure they chose and make a map of how they will do that. This map will act as their jumping off point as they use it to store their research and use these layers to make their own map.
