I created this thermal map from drone-collected data to compare surface temperature patterns between vegetated and non-vegetated areas across the UTM campus. First, I used imagery-derived GCC (Green Chromatic Coordinate) index to classify land cover into vegetation vs. non-vegetation. Then I overlaid that classification on the drone-derived surface temperature layer and ran zonal statistics to calculate the median temperature for each class. Finally, I symbolized the results to clearly highlight the contrast in temperature between vegetated and built-up surfaces and designed the layout for readability.
