Service Capacity Modelling

Project - Using GIS to calculate and display the utilisation of service providers (such as telecoms equipment) with variables such as range and capacity.

  1. Input a shapefile with point data with the range and capacity of each service.

  2. Input a shapefile showing population areas (eg Lower Layer Super Output Areas)

  3. Run modeller

  4. Outputs: shapefile showing population areas outside the range of the services, shapefile showing population areas insude the range of the services, shapefile showing services with capacity calculated (service capacity / sum of population of nearest areas)
