The goal of this project was to analyze check-in data from a social media company and determine the most popular neighborhoods in the San Francisco area in order to select a location to open a new business. The data includes the location where users checked in and the time, so spatial and temporal analyses were conducted. I aggregated the check-ins, detected spatial and temporal clusters, created a space time cube, and analyzed emerging hot spots. Then, I combined the results to determine the ideal location to open a new business.
