This dashboard (interactive view stored at Tableau) features the number of suicide cases per 100,000 inhabitants per state. The total number of suicide cases is shown on the top and the categorization by age and suicide method is shown in the bar chart; both variables change accordingly when the user clicks on the state of interest. This allows to see which age group is most vulnerable and which suicide method is prevailing in each state, as well as which suicide method is prevailing in each age group. The data is taken from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and manipulated in QGIS via spatial join (with the states) and SQL (grouping data by age & suicide method).
