First GIS project for my Master's program. PNL (National Liberal Party) and PSD (Social Democrat Party) are two of the major, "traditional" parties in Romania. We see high reds in the south and Moldova, due to a more dire economic situation and PSD's welfare-focus political platform, but PNL in some of the Transylvanian counties, Transylvania being its main hotspot (with county council presidents often also being PNL, or mayors such as in the case of Cluj-Napoca). The blanks are due to a high Hungarian population that votes for UDMR/RMDSZ, the representative party of the Hungarian minority of Romania.
