Land cover maps represent spatial information on different types (classes) of physical coverage of the Earth's surface. Landcover mapping has played and still laying an important role in agricultural policy making. Land-cover data are used as basic information for sustainable management of natural resources; they are increasingly needed for the assessment of impacts of economic development on the environment.

The landcover data was downloaded from MODIS and ArcGIS was used to visualize the data.
