During the Spring 2024 semester at UVU, I was able to work as an Instructional Assistant (TA) for an Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) course. As part of my duties, I developed map design demonstrations to teach students cartographic principles. This included preparing presentations on design principles, creating hands-on practice scenarios for students to follow, creating example map layouts, and documenting the steps and goals of each demo for the professor to use in future semesters. This is just one of the maps I used in my demos.
