This map shows the results of the Brazilian presidential elections (2nd term) in 2018 and 2022, where the Workers Party (PT) candidates - Haddad (2018) and Lula (2022) - were running against Jair Bolsonaro.

The map also compares the evolution (in percentage points) between the valid votes (excluding null and blank votes) that PT and Bolsonaro had in 2018 and 2022.

A Polygon Shapefile from IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) with municipal boundaries was used. This shapefile has a field with IBGE municipal unique codes. This field was used to join this table to a secondary table containing both IBGE municipal unique codes, City names, and Federal Superior Court (TSE) municipal unique codes. A third and fourth table with valid votes for candidates in 2018 and 2022 were joined to the 1st table using the TSE municipal unique codes.

A gradient colour scheme was used to emphasize the differences between votes for the Workers Party in 2018, 2022, and the votes difference (in percentage points) between 2022 and 2018.

O mapa apresenta os resultados da eleição presidencial federal (2° turno) em 2018 e 2022, onde Candidatos do PT (Haddad em 2018 e Lula em 2022) concorreram à presidência contra Jair Bolsonaro.

O mapa também compara a diferença de votos (em pontos percentuais) entre 2018 e 2022.

Um arquivo shapefile com os limites municipais foi usado como base para o mapa. Este arquivo, que contém um campo com códigos municipais únicos, foi utilizado para correlacionar esta base de dados georreferenciada com uma tabela contendo códigos municipais do IBGE e do TSE. Por fim, outras duas tabelas, com resultados eleitorais das eleições presidenciais de segundo turno de 2018 e 2022 foram anexadas à primeira utilizando os códigos de município do TSE.

Um esquema de cores graduais foi utilizado para enfatizar as diferenças entre votos para o PT em 2018 e 2022, e também para demonstrar a diferença de votos, em pontos percentuais, entre 2022 e 2018.
