The project draws upon the map created by Dr. John Snow, who studied the relationship between water pump locations and cholera deaths in Soho, London. The data included deaths per household, which I symbolized with varying intensities; households with the highest number of deaths were represented by larger symbols. By doing this, one could visually estimate the point of outbreak as the maximum number of deaths per household were clustered in a region. Furthermore, the results were confirmed by using a kernel density, estimation tool which evaluated the density of deaths in each neighborhood cell.
