Exercise 4abc- City of Troutdale

The objectives of this exercise was to create an accurate map of fire hydrants, water lines, water pressure zones, wells, and valves in the Oregon area. I was able to achieve this by converting shape files to geo database feature classes, mapping x,y points, establish an attribute domain, configure snapping options, create line feature, deleting well locations, and splitting and merging water pressure zones in the Oregon area. I was able to achieve this by splitting polygons, merging polygons, and modifying lines and points.

This exercise would be helpful in an environmental application specifically in water treatment, as it would be helpful to map out water systems in a specific area. Having this mapped out would be helpful to have in case a system failed, you would be able to determine which systems would be affected by the failed system. Having this map would also be helpful to be able to edit waterline locations on a map if one was relocated or added. As well as being able to merging areas the map if an area was added to the water treatment system and being able to remove systems from the map if they were shut down.
