This project utilized geoprocessing methods to identify optimal food truck locations in the Eugene-Springfield area by analyzing vector point data for grocery stores, bus stops, and rental housing. Euclidean distance and point density tools were applied to convert these shapefile inputs into raster layers, which were then reclassified based on suitability. Areas farther from grocery stores, closer to bus stops, and with higher rental density were considered more favorable. A weighted overlay was performed, prioritizing distance from grocery stores (50%) over housing density and bus stop proximity (25% each). Results highlighted high-suitability zones, particularly along the I-5 corridor, where access is high and competition is low.
