This project visualizes the distribution of over 100 tree species across Seattle using an interactive web map built with Mapbox. Tree data was sourced from Seattle’s open data portal and processed as a GeoJSON point layer. Each species is represented by a uniquely colored point, and a dark monochrome basemap was selected to enhance visibility and accessibility for all users. To improve clarity and user experience, the map includes interactive clusters highlighting the three most common tree species, along with zoom controls that allow viewers to explore different areas of the city. Design choices focused on color accessibility, symbology, and a clean UI layout to make the data both engaging and easy to interpret. This project reflects a personal interest in urban forestry and serves as an example of combining data visualization, cartographic design, and web mapping skills in a user-friendly format.
