Allentown, PA, Sanitary Sewer Design

I worked on this project in the summer of 2024 during my time at Kleinfelder. For this project, I used ArcGIS Pro to determine the sewer segments in Allentown, PA, that allowed the most infiltration so they could be renovated in the upcoming year. This was done by using Spatial Join and other spatial analyses on a shapefiles of sewer pipe segments and manholes to determine which subsections of Allentown had the most sewer segments prone to infiltration. In addition, I created an engineering design set by forming map books in ArcGIS Pro and exporting necessary shapefiles from GIS to AutoCAD, lining them up with the Pennsylvania Stateplane Coordinate System. Also, I created a financial plan for this project by exporting necessary attribute tables to Excel and outlining which sewer segments could be refurbished within a $5 million budget in 2025.
