Geospatial Data Handling - Purdue

This project was completed for my ArcGIS class, CE 508, at Purdue. This project outlined many tasks to test our geospatial data handling. Notable tasks include:

  • Determining what percentage of airports in Indiana are within 3, 5, and 10 miles of highways

  • Finding a suitable area within 3 miles of churches, parks, schools, and away from fire stations for a hypothetical family to settle down

  • Using Modelbuilder to automate the same process outlined in the bullet above

  • Creating Voronoi polygons to determine which hospitals, schools, or parks are the closest to a given location

  • Evaluating the Euler Characteristic in Topology with theoretical and ArcGIS examples
