This analysis is based on data from the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) on Oil spill incidences in Nigeria from 1994 t0 2019. To run the optimized hotspot analysis, the integrate tool in ArcGIS pro was used to combine oil spill points within a 5-meter radius, and then the collect event was run to identify combined points and generate ICOUNT field. The output from the Collect Event tool was then used to run the Optimized Hotspot Analysis (using the ICOUNT as the input field) which resulted in three distinct clusters (hot spot, cold spot, and not significant). Lastly the Z-score from the hotspot analysis was then used to generate an Inverse Distance Weighting Surface
