The attached map was a part of a class project, where students were tasked with replicating a specific map without sacrificing credibility of data. The purpose of the map was to creatively convey the voting trends of each county in the 2020 presidential election.
This map was a part of a greater project. See my other election map. Both maps were created using similar datasets.
I chose to approach this task from a slight partisan slant. Instead of having two separate feature classes each showing the voting statistics for the prevailing party, I focused on the democratic party.
Calculate field was used to determine the percentage of total voters within a county that voted democrat.
Symbology was set to graduated colors with equal intervals. Color choice reflects commonplace political party color affiliations.
