River Incision In the Sierras

In this project, I traced these 8 rivers within the Southern Sierra Nevada Mountains over a DEM within QGIS, and then used a terrain profile tool in order to create long profiles for each river that I graphed using Excel and compiled into this one image.

By comparing and contrasting the long profiles and measuring the incision following the work of Clark et al. 2005 who used this same method of reconstructing the stream profile and then measuring where it drastically dips in order to use the total incision of the river to then, by extension, measure the total uplift of the sierras in the past <32 million years.
