Developed an interactive web map for Berkeley County, South Carolina displaying voting precinct boundaries and polling locations for public use. Built using Esri ArcGIS and published through the county's GIS department, the map serves as a civic transparency and voter engagement tool accessible to all residents.
Key components include:
Precinct boundary layers symbolized with a teal/green color scheme to clearly delineate voting districts across the county
Polling location point markers displayed throughout the county for easy identification
Multi-layer district navigation allowing users to toggle between U.S. House, State House, State Senate, County Council, School Board, and additional district layers via the top toolbar
Address/TMS# search functionality enabling residents to look up their precinct by home address or tax map number
Elected Officials Panel:
Each legislative layer triggers a dynamic side panel listing all representatives serving the county, populated directly from the attribute table with linked official headshots and biography URLs
Clicking a representative's name highlights and zooms the map to their specific district boundary
Each entry includes a Biography button linking to the official's full biography page, sourced via hyperlinks stored in the feature layer's attribute table
Voter Resources Panel:
A collapsible sidebar button (circled in the map view) opens a "Want to Learn More?" panel connecting residents to the Berkeley County Voter Registration and Elections department
The panel includes the department's mission statement, office contact information for Charleston, Moncks Corner, and St. Stephen locations, and quick-access buttons for Poll Worker Applications, Frequently Asked Questions, Photo ID requirements, and the Interactive Districts & Precinct Map
A "Go To Website" button links directly to the Berkeley County Voter Registration and Elections website, giving residents a seamless path to register to vote, find absentee voting services, and access all election-related resources
Data & Infrastructure:
Hosted on Berkeley County's GIS infrastructure with base map data from Esri, TomTom, Garmin, USGS, EPA, and USFWS
