A dataset from Glottolog listing all of the world's languages was imported and reduced to show the centroids of all Indigenous languages spoken in Canada. From this, a Spatially Constrained Multivariate Clusters analysis was run, creating clusters of sizes N=10, 20, ..., 90, 100. After 60, the quality of the clusters dropped off, but at N=60, the results were visually striking; most languages were in just clusters of one or two, whilst in BC, there were several clusters of 3+ languages. These clusters are shown on the map, as well as the traditional ranges of the languages spoken within the cluster for two of the clusters. These ranges served as study area for another project.
