Project: Vegetation Transect Data Analysis – White Lake Biodiversity Ranch 2001-2005 (British Columbia)
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) biologists established vegetation transects at the White Lake Biodiversity Ranch in the early 2000s, recording data from over 20,000 observation points in a Microsoft Access database format.
Project responsibilities included:
Extracting and converting raw data into CSV format for ease of analysis and integration with GIS tools.
Creating spatial maps to support comparisons between vegetation data and bird survey results in the study area.
Organizing and cleaning the dataset, including identifying and categorizing data by specific Plot/Point Count (PC) IDs through independent research.
Standardizing the coordinate reference system (CRS) to ensure consistency across all spatial layers.
