This project identifies the optimal school location in Al Nahdah district, Riyadh using Location-Allocation analysis in ArcGIS Pro.
A road network dataset was prepared, and different facility types were defined, including existing schools (competitors), required facilities, and candidate locations. Residential buildings were used as demand points representing population distribution.
Using the Network Analyst extension, a Location-Allocation model was applied to determine the best site that maximizes service coverage and minimizes travel distance for residents. The analysis evaluates multiple candidate locations and selects the most efficient one based on network accessibility.
The output visualizes connections between demand points and facilities, highlighting the chosen optimal location and its service area.
This analysis supports urban planning decisions by improving accessibility and optimizing the distribution of educational services.
