Optimal Route Analysis Using Network GIS

This project identifies the optimal route across five locations in Al Nahdah district, Riyadh using Route Network Analysis in ArcGIS Pro.

A road network dataset was prepared and classified by street types. Five stops were added along with a point barrier to simulate a restriction within the network. Using the Network Analyst extension, the best route was calculated based on travel distance along the road network.

The output shows the most efficient path connecting all stops in sequence while avoiding the barrier. The final route was visualized on the map with clear symbology, including stops, barriers, and the optimized path.

This analysis demonstrates how GIS can be used for route optimization, navigation planning, and improving movement efficiency within urban areas.
