Cordillera Poverty Incidence and Income

As part of an academic activity in my course "GEOG 124: Geographic Information Systems for Human Geographic Research" specifically our Exam Map Output, we were tasked with generating and spatially analyzing poverty incidence and annual regular income per capita.

  • Joining multiple datafields and datasets into one consolidated spatialite.

  • Create multiple maps from one database resulting in multiple choropleth maps that uses quantile classification.

  • Work with Field Calculator to normalize variables for each city and town per capita.

  • Spatial analysis was necessary for this exam output.

    • Identification of the poorest 20% of towns and cities with highest poverty incidence.

    • Identification of the richest 20% of towns and cities with highest per capita annual regular income.
