Geospatial Data for Corsan Sanitation

Acted in a geospatial data collection project for AEGEA Corsan, covering multiple municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul. The project involved capturing point cloud data and orthoimages to generate digital elevation models (DEMs) and hydrological flow and flooding models. High-resolution images were used for the full vectorization of municipalities, accurately mapping key infrastructure elements. The project gained urgency as the region was hit by heavy rains that caused significant flooding, intensifying the need for rapid data delivery. This initiative was part of Brazil's Legal Sanitation Framework (Marco Legal do Saneamento), established to ensure universal access to potable water and sewage treatment for the entire population. The framework also defines guidelines for urban cleaning, solid waste management, and stormwater handling, aligning with national goals of improving public health and environmental sustainability.
