Locations have been changed to protect resources.
When I worked as a forester, I gathered information via digital data files loaded onto a Trimble GeoExplorer 7x. Typically, a forester would have previously created prescribed harvest polygons and riparian management zone boundaries. Special restrictions, treatments, etc. would be determined during a NEPA review process.
I used these polygons in a sample contract map. Previous NEPA documentation would aid in special prescriptions. I clipped the treatment polygons to an ownership polygon. Harvest treatments created by the previous forester were applied across the landscape. However, each polygon has a different owner. The clip was necessary to keep track of acreage harvested for each owner.
Callouts were used to draw attention to areas where special rules and regulations would apply. This sample would accompany a map of the same area but used for harvest prescriptions and navigation purposes.
