In this project, I conducted a terrain and visibility analysis in the Gable Mountain area of Glacier National Park, Montana. Using a USGS digital elevation model (DEM) and contour and stream vector data, I created a triangulated irregular network (TIN) to model the terrain. Then, I performed a viewshed analysis from six observation points using ArcGIS Pro’s 3D Analyst tools to identify visible areas on the landscape. I created both 2D and 3D visualizations of the terrain and compared elevation, slope, and aspect renderings. The final layout featured six viewshed maps and a 3D terrain perspective with vertical exaggeration for enhanced interpretation.
