In this project, I analyzed land cover change between 2001 and 2011 within the Mill Creek Watershed near Ann Arbor, MI. I used land cover data from the National Land Cover Database (NLCD), clipped it to the watershed boundary, and calculated statistics on different land cover types. I applied geoprocessing tools such as Clip, Buffer, and Intersect in ArcGIS Pro to examine land cover change at the watershed level, within riparian buffer zones, and across five sub-basins. Summary statistics were used to quantify land cover transitions, particularly agricultural reduction and urban development, and the results were visualized on a dual-map layout with annotated percent changes.
